First World Hotel
On 26 July 2002, Dr. Mahathir Graced the official opening of the First World Hotel and Plaza Complex, Genting Highlands Resort's newest and biggest single Development project to-date. First World Hotel is the third largest hotel in the world by rooms. It comprises Tower 1 and Tower 2, each with 28 floor, and has a total of 6,118 rooms. It was the largest hotel in the world until The Palazzo, an expansion of The Venetian in Las Vegas was opened in January 2008.

The hotel is managed by First World Hotel and Resorts Sdn. Bhd, one of two major companies operating at Genting Highlands resorts (the other is Resorts World Bhd.). Major facilities of the complex include the 106,000-sq ft Genting International Convention Centre which seats 6000; a Grand Ballroom with the largest column-free interior in Malaysia; over 150 retail and food and beverage outlets and a 500,000-sq ft indoor theme park that is the largest in Southeast Asia.

Sky Venture
Here, visitors of all can enjoy themselves with a wide variety of adventures and fun rides. Thrill-seekers are guaranteed a constant flow of adrenaline by trying the Euro-Express Roller Coaster. or RM 10 million Genting Sky Venture, which i one of  two such facilities in the world and the first in Asia to offer visitors a chance to experience skydiving without boarding an aircraft. Aspiring mountaineers can test their skills at the Genting X' pedition Wall. Malaysia's Biggest and tallest world-class climbing wall. Those who long for a snowy winter can head for the spin or two on the toboggan slide.

On December 18, 2006, Guinness World Records listed the First World Hotel as world's largest hotel complex by number and not by constructed area.
